Guidelines for the visitors:
Welcome to the Hindu And Jain Temple Of Las Vegas!
We are delighted to have you visit our temple and experience the spiritual and cultural richness it offers. Our temple is open to all to visit. You do not have to practice the Hindu religion to visit the temple. To ensure a pleasant and respectful environment for all visitors, we kindly request that you adhere to the following guidelines:
Footwear:
- Before entering the main temple area, kindly remove your footwear and place them in the designated shoe racks or shoe storage areas.
- Socks or stockings are recommended to be worn inside the temple for hygiene purposes.
Dress Code:
- Please dress modestly and respectfully while inside the temple premises.
- Avoid wearing revealing or offensive clothing, such as shorts, tank tops, or beachwear.
- It’s not necessary to wear traditional Indian clothing to a temple, both men and women should wear modest, conservative clothing to the temple. Wear something that is loose enough for you to comfortably sit cross-legged in.
Religious Etiquette:
- Before entering the temple, it is suggested to wash your hands & feet (in the provided washing area – located between the Temple’s side entry gate and Kitchen entry gate)
- Do not touch the Deities or Sannidhi Walls.
- Observe and follow the customs and rituals practiced within the temple premises.
- If you are unsure about any practices or traditions, feel free to ask the temple authorities or volunteers for guidance
Silence and Respect:
- Maintain a calm and peaceful environment by observing silence while inside the temple.
- Refrain from using loud voices, engaging in disruptive behavior, or using electronic devices that may disturb others.
- Please respect the sanctity of the temple and avoid touching or climbing on any sacred objects or sculptures.
Photography and Videography:
- Photography and videography are not allowed inside the Temple. It may be allowed in other areas of the temple, but it is essential to check with the temple authorities or signage for any restrictions.
- If permission is granted, please ensure that you do not disturb other devotees or the proceedings of religious ceremonies.
Food and Beverages:
- Home cooked, outside food or any edible items are generally not allowed inside the temple. However, exceptions may be made for offerings made during specific rituals or festivals. Kindly check with the temple authorities beforehand.
- Temple does not allow egg, non-vegetarian food on premises. Milk and milk products are allowed.
- Dravyas such as milk, fruits, flowers, honey, etc. will be accepted. Please leave these items in the basket placed at the respective sannidhis – please note: usage or acceptance will be at the discretion of the Temple Management & Temple Priests, subject to limitations or restrictions.
- Vibhooti and Kumkum prasadam are available upon request.
Smoking and Alcohol:
- Smoking, consumption of alcohol, or any form of intoxication are strictly prohibited in and around the temple premises.
Personal Belongings:
- Please take care of your personal belongings during your visit.
- We recommend keeping valuables secure and not leaving them unattended.
Respectful Behavior:
- Treat fellow devotees, priests, and temple staff with courtesy and respect.
- Refrain from engaging in any form of disrespectful or disruptive behavior..
Donation and Offerings:
- If you wish to make a donation or offer prayers, please approach the designated areas or donation counters.
- Any monetary contributions must be made directly into the “Hundi” held in the designated locations, though we would prefer it if you pay online. Click here to make the donation online.
